Blog Playing

I'm taking the plunge and playing with my Blog template today, to try and create my own title image. I've been thinking about doing this for a while now but finally got inspired to get off my backside after seeing the great effort that Jo has made with hers. So, if my Blog goes all weird then you'll know I'm having problems!

I have to give kudos to Blogger, they fixed a problem that occurred when I changed to the new Beta Blogger format. For some reason my Blog archive heading went all funny from when I changed over, and the archive headings were a month behind, so Feb posts were being archived into a Jan heading. Small and insignificant I know, but it was annoying me no end and I couldn't work out how to fix it. So I finally emailed Blogger support and a couple of days later it was all fixed! So, thank you Blogger gurus!

Update:
After wasting the whole day, I've managed (after lots of screw-ups) to customise my header and fiddle around with colours. I've succeeded in losing the header link back to my blog 'home' though, will have to try and fix that. So, after a frustrating day, I guess I've done what I set out to do!

I quite like the header image. It's part of a photo of one of my quilts, and I played with it in Photoshop. I used the 'paint daubs' filter and then the 'fresco' filter and then changed the colours around (the quilt is multicoloured in real life). The header font is 'Papyrus'.

Update on the update:
It took the whole weekend! Bloody blogs. It's all because I got all antzy and just HAD to have a link in the blog header like before. And isn't it funny how one little change affects lots of other things that you didn't expect. I found some good help sites though, this was the most useful one , and this one
My advice is to BACK UP YOUR TEMPLATE and have lots of free time!

Dy, your header is absolutely fantastic!! Puts mine to shame, though I did finally cave and accept an offer of help. You obviously have knowledge, where as mine was more luck.
LOVE IT!
Didn't realise you were an Aussie.

Thank you so much for this information. I've just opened up a blogger account and want to have a catchy banner, but haven't known where to start. Now I do!
