Spoils Of The Week

There's been a bit of money slipping through my fingers this week. Meshell and I wandered down to Fremantle today, firstly to the Craft Bazaar at the Fremantle Arts Centre. Meshell pointed out that the two things I was interested in were exactly the same two things I looked at last year - I am very predictable. But this year I actually bought one of them.

The tile was made by Tanya and Rob McCulloch from The Fifth Room. I fell in love with their tiles last year and I'm so pleased that I got out of stingy mode today and bought one. It was hard to choose, I also adored their dragonfly series too. The tile pattern has a raised texture so it's very touchy feely.

Next stop was the East Fremantle Festival in George Street. My god it was packed, the whole street has been closed off and it was a riot of stalls, food and entertainment. We were there with a purpose, to find the stall of Ali J and Miss Dot. Feli was there visiting too and we all had a nice chat (I was the old fart). Poor Ali was a bit stressed - she was a victim of the brisk Fremantle sea breeze and spent most of her time trying to batten down her products which kept blowing off the table. After admiring their wares, out came my purse again and I bought this necklace.

Isn't it great! Ali J and Miss Dot had a collaborative project going using Ali's gorgeous art work set into Miss Dot's fabulous resin jewellery. I absolutely love it to bits and you know what.... I see it as a bit of a self portrait - slightly pissed off looking female with flyaway hair issues. :-) According to Ali J's Etsy Shop, this particular series of art is of a futuristic girl called Isabella. But I know better, her name is really Dy.

Earlier this week Steve and I made a decision. As we didn't really know what to get for Xmas we decided to buy a combined gift, we've always wanted a really comfortable outdoor lounge chair, for lying on to read or just relax under the fig tree. So off we went to Segals and found just what we wanted...
And while we were there we spotted the perfect outdoor setting. We used to have an enormous plastic one that was a pain because of its size but also because the way it was constructed made it an absolute haven for spiders. Anyway, far be it for us to only stop at buying a lounge chair, we bought the outdoor setting as well!

It's wonderful!! We've never had outdoor chairs with cushions before and these are so comfortable. We've had dinner outside nearly every evening since we bought it.

I am pleased to announce that I have commenced Christmas shopping at long last (are you proud of me Feli). I haven't ventured into the shops much but my credit card has been having a work-out with Internet shopping. Meshell was quite disgusted the other day when the parcel man delivered parcels addressed to ME for a change. We all know what an Internet shopaholic that girl is so I felt quite victorious that day ;-)

Your outdoor seating set is perfect: practical, but with a note of luxury. (Is there anything more perfect than reclining and reading under a tree?)

I like your new necklace and alter ego as well; at first I mistook it for art glass.

Your necklace looks fab! glad you love it.

Love those chairs...especially the lounge one of course...mhhh, reading under a tree, in summer...
The pendant is great, as is the tile...I love those colours. I think I almost bought wool today in those shades. :) (But I'm a poor and pennyless student...)
